Unleash your creativity with the new WhatsApp sticker maker; Know how it works

0
Meta Platforms, the tech giant, has been working on various updates to make its instant messaging app even more user-friendly. And now, WhatsApp users on iOS are in for a treat due to the latest update – a custom sticker maker that adds a fun twist to chats. You can say goodbye to the hassle of exiting the app, as now you can create, edit, and share personalised stickers seamlessly within WhatsApp. While the WhatsApp sticker maker feature has been in-the-works for a while, iOS users will be the first to experience it, while Android users will have to wait for a while before they get their hands on it.

Create Your Own WhatsApp Stickers: A Step-by-Step Guide

1. Open your sticker tray by tapping the icon next to the text box.

2. Select ‘create sticker’ and choose an image from your image gallery.

3. Customise your sticker with the auto-crop function and editing tools, including text, drawing, and overlaying other stickers.

4. Hit send, and your sticker is automatically stored in the sticker tray for future use.

But that’s not all- WhatsApp has more in store. Users can also edit existing stickers with these simple steps:

1. Open your sticker tray.

2. Long press the sticker you want to edit and choose ‘edit sticker.’

3. Add text, other stickers, or drawings to personalise the sticker.

4. Send the edited sticker and keep the conversation lively.

Currently, exclusive to WhatsApp Web and available on iOS 17 plus, this feature allows users with older iOS versions to edit existing stickers, although creating new ones is not an option.

In an exciting development, WhatsApp plans to enhance the Sticker Maker further with the introduction of an AI sticker generator. Unveiled during the Meta Connect event on September 27, 2023, this feature allows users to create personalised stickers effortlessly.

Here’s a Sneak Peek at the Upcoming AI Sticker Generator:

1. Open a chat or story on WhatsApp.

2. Tap the sticker icon (on Android, it’s an emoji with a flower; on iOS, it’s a sticker icon).

3. Select the “Create” option (indicated by a plus sign on Android, a pencil on iOS).

4. Tap the “AI” button, represented by a robot head.

5. Enter a detailed and imaginative description of your desired sticker.

6. The AI will present several sticker options based on your input.

7. Pick your favourite and share it with your contacts when this exciting feature goes live.

Get ready to express yourself like never before with WhatsApp’s evolving sticker maker features!

Apple Vision Pro explained: Why this mixed reality headset is ideal for virtual tours

0
The Apple Vision Pro is a spatial computer that allows users to experience apps and features in an augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) environment. The headset is built not for just consumers, but for developers who can use its many features to design and build AR/VR applications and products. However, there is another use case where it can come in extremely handy – virtual tours. Here’s why.

Apple Vision Pro for virtual tours

According to Apple, the Vision Pro headset is capable of seamlessly blending the digital world with the real world. Thus, it is capable of generating detailed 3D environments that can be toured in mixed reality.

The headset is fitted with 23 million micro-OLED pixels across the display, meaning there are more pixels there in just a postage stamp-sized area than what you can get on a 4K TV! That makes the viewing experience crisp. Be it touring a virtual gallery or a museum, Apple Vision Pro users will be able to navigate the space with crystal clear clarity.

Moreover, instead of a physical controller, you control it with your hands, voice, and eyes. This means you won’t need a separate controller to move through a virtual reality tour, making the experience even more immersive. Almost the same as standing anywhere and watching everything by turning your head or eyes. It also features spatial audio that promises to improve the virtual tour experience, blending real-world sounds. Users can even interact with Siri and ask questions about various artifacts, landmarks and more, making this an engrossing and extremely comprehensive experience of whatever you have a mind to do.

What the entire virtual tour experience entail

1. The Vision Pro virtual tour will take you through Immersive 3D Environments that the user can explore and that too with both eyes and hands and even interact with the objects inside.

2. Vision Pro virtual tour also offers the ability to ramp-up your experience to new levels with spatial audio and voice control and not just that, the audio will also merge with the sounds outside in the real world.

3. And if you like the experience, you can capture it all in video or take pictures, just like a tourist might!

4. You can tailor your requirements and also deploy any apps that you have a mind, including Safari browser. That will allow the user to use the headset for both private and professional purposes.

5. While the headset is not exactly light (anything between 450g to just under 700g), but Apple has promised it will be a very comfortable experience and it will not weigh heavy on the user allowing full control and mobility throughout.

Also, with the Apple Vision Pro, you don’t need to worry even if you wear glasses! Buyers can purchase special ZEISS Optical inserts with the Vision Pro.

Apple Vision Pro: How much does it cost?

Apple has announced that the Vision Pro headset will cost $3499 and will be available in a 256GB storage option. Additionally, users can also purchase ZEISS Optical Inserts — Readers for $99, and ZEISS Optical Inserts — Prescription for $149.

Google Assistant to lose features ahead of Bard integration

0

What you need to know

  • Google is making some changes to its Assistant on Android devices.
  • Prominent voice-based actions are getting axed, including 17 new changes.
  • The changes are extended to the Google Search app as well.
  • Users can no longer trigger Assistant from the search bar in the Google app.

Since its inception, Google Assistant has probably been one of the most utilized features on Android devices. However, while it is still being utilized on plenty of devices, it is not being used as effectively as the search giant anticipated it to be. As such, Google has decided to axe some of the “under-utilized” features through its Assistant app across the board.

Most of these features appear to be voice-based, that is, the ability to use your voice to instruct the Assistant to perform tasks, notes Google in the accompanying blog post. The company says these changes are imposed to make Google Assistant more helpful than before.

Samsung Galaxy S24 series tipped to get BIG gaming feature; Know how it will help gamers

0
With just a week to go for the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked Event, the hype is at an all-time high. This year, Samsung has again shifted the launch venue from its headquarters in South Korea to San Jose, California. The highlight of the Galaxy Unpacked Event is expected to be the launch of the flagship Samsung Galaxy S24 series featuring 3 variants – Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24 Plus, and Galaxy S24 Ultra. And with just a week to go before the unveiling, Samsung Galaxy S24 leaks are now surfacing rapidly. A new leak suggests that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S24 series will likely appeal to gamers due to one big feature – a larger vapour chamber. Here’s all about it.

Samsung Galaxy S24 leak: Bigger vapour chamber on the cards

In an X post, tipster Tarun Vats suggested that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S24 series will feature larger vapour chambers that will allow for enhanced cooling performance. In theory, this will allow the Galaxy S24 to cool down faster and retain its performance at the peak. The Samsung Galaxy S24 is tipped to feature a vapour chamber 1.5 times bigger than its predecessor, while the S24 Plus will reportedly be 1.6 times bigger. Meanwhile, the top-end Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra might get a vapour chamber 1.9 times bigger than the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra.

This feature might particularly appeal to gamers as smartphones tend to get heated up after long and intense gaming sessions. The rumour is bolstered by a leak by another tipster who posted presentation slides of the S24 launch on X. One of the slides also states a 1.9 times bigger vapour chamber.

Samsung Galaxy S24, S24 Plus: All the rumours

According to specs leaked by WinFuture, the vanilla Galaxy S24 models might get a big feature that was previously exclusive to the top-end Ultra smartphone – a 1Hz refresh rate. Black, Marble Gray, Cobalt Violet, and Amber Yellow color options. Some rumors have mentioned that these two smartphones will feature a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset in the US, while in other regions it will come with Exynos 2400 SOC. Another rumor says that the base model and the Plus model may feature an optimized version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 instead.

Meanwhile, a rumor claims that the flagship Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra might feature a titanium frame, matching its rival iPhone 15 Pro. Alongside, it may also get a flatter display, faster chipset, and an upgraded 50MP 5x telephoto camera.

Based on leaks, awesome iPhone 16 concept reveals what Apple may roll out

0
In September last year, Apple launched the new iPhone 15 series, which gained much recognition due to various tweaks and improvements that it packed as compared to its predecessor. Now, the new year has begun and analysts have revealed that Apple is progressing well on the next iPhone launch – the iPhone 16 series. The leaks and rumors have started to emerge and tipsters are revealing what will be included in the new iPhone series. Most recently, a graphic designer shared a digital design of iPhone 16 that is based entirely on the various rumors about the handset that have hit the public realm. Check out what the current rumors say about the iPhone 16 series.

iPhone 16 design and upgrades

According to a post shared by a graphic designer named Jia, the base model of the iPhone 16 is quite similar to the iPhone 12 due to the vertical camera placement which was earlier leaked by a tipster. The virtual camera placement has been made due to the rumored spatial video feature. The resemblance to iPhone 12 may well indicate that even this year we will not see any massive design change in the iPhone 16 series.

The leaked image also showcased a smaller version of the special Action Button to conduct several tasks that have been added such as live translation, and other shortcuts. It was also rumored that the iPhone 16 series may come with a new Capture Button that may be used for capturing photos and videos. The capture button was placed at the side towards the bottom of the leaked image. However, the placement as well as the inclusion of the button has not been revealed by any officially-linked source.

Additionally, BGR reported that the iPhone 16 Pro models may get a few camera upgrades and they are expected to be launched with larger size displays of 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch. The size is being increased due to larger batteries and the integration of tetraprism lens.

Note that the shared image on X is based on leaks and does not provide any credibility till Apple officially launches the iPhone 16 series showing the design and new upgrades to the smartphone.

CES 2024 pet tech: Throw a dog a bone — or better still, an artificial intelligence collar

0
CES 2024: They don’t own smartphones and can’t go online, but that doesn’t prevent them from being connected: Pets are benefitting from a slew of animal-oriented technology at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. How’s Fido feeling? Tracking your dog’s steps, detecting its heart problems, knowing exactly when kitty’s litterbox has become too full — it’s all possible.

Here’s a roundup of some of the technology for pets and their owners on display at CES 2024:

– Smart collars –

What is Rover up to now? The Smart Dog Collar not only helps owners locate their pet in real time, but also monitors its activity — including its heart rate and whether it is barking.

The technology was developed by French GPS specialist Invoxia, which now also offers a mini version (small enough even for cats) called Minitailz — which records health data and can even help detect atrial fibrillation (a type of irregular heart rhythm) in animals.

Minitailz uses generative AI and notes when an animal is doing anything from scratching to eating. It even identifies when pets are exhibiting stress.

Lately, daily exercise quotas have gone to the dogs — literally. Australian startup Ilume’s collar, called Tracker, counts a dog’s steps and lets an owner know via smartphone what a pet is up to — like walking or sleeping.

The company also offers a Smart Bowl, whose algorithm calculates ideal food portions based on age, weight and activity.

The pet products market is expected to skyrocket in coming years, according to industry trackers, which is no surprise given that some 66 percent of US households now have at least one pet, according to the American Pet Products Association (APPA).

Animals aren’t the only ones benefitting from these relationships however: Numerous scientific studies have concluded that pet owners are healthier and have less risk of cardiovascular diseases in particular.

– Litter box tech –

Pet-related innovations are also helping out dogs’ and cats’ human companions.

The Whiskers litter box sifts litter into a bin so owners don’t have to scoop — and notifies pet parents via app when the litter drawer is full and needs emptying.

Litter box competitor Pawbby is also self-cleaning — and monitors how often a cat goes poo and pee, as well as the animal’s weight, all in an effort to help owners remain informed on their pet’s health.

Chinese engineer Allen Wu created the device after learning his cat’s illness could have been detected earlier had he noticed the change in its bathroom habits, he told AFP.
