Motorola unveiled the Razr 40 and Razr 40 Ultra in June. The Razr 40 Ultra launched in the US as the Razr+, and now the Razr 40 Ultra has also debuted in the States. It’s called Motorola Razr in the US and Canada, but the URL of the listing on Motorola’s websites for these regions mentions the smartphone as Motorola Razr Gen 3.
Motorola is touting the Razr as the most affordable clamshell in the US, and it also introduced a new software experience called Moto Unplugged to “help users take a break from their smartphone, removing distractions so they can be more present.” It’s basically a focus mode that helps users take a “digital break” from the apps of their choice for a certain amount of time.
The rest of the stuff remains the same, meaning you get the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC, Android 13, and a 4,200 mAh battery with 30W wired and 5W wireless charging. The Motorola Razr’s FullHD+ folding LTPO AMOLED display measures 6.9″ display and has a 144Hz screen refresh rate. The cover display, on the other hand, measures 1.5″ diagonally and has 368×194-pixel resolution.
The Motorola Razr features a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and three cameras – 64MP primary (with OIS), 13MP ultrawide, and 32MP selfie. The smartphone comes in a single 8GB RAM + 128GB storage configuration and has an NFC chip onboard.
In the US, the Motorola Razr comes in Sage Green, Summer Lilac, Vanilla Cream, and Cherry Blossom colors with a price tag of $699.99. However, it will have a limited-time discount of $100.
The Motorola Razr will be up for pre-orders in the US starting October 12 through Motorola’s official US website and select carriers and retailers. It will go on sale from October 19 through T-Mobile, Metro by T-Mobile, AT&T, Xfinity Mobile, USCellular, Boost Infinite, Boost Mobile, Consumer Cellular, Best Buy, Amazon.com, and Motorola’s website, with subsequent availability at Cricket Wireless’ online and offline stores on October 20.
